In some cases, the preceptor may ask the rotator to write a letter of recommendation draft.

Testimonials
Dr. X is one of the nicest people I have met...was also very clear in setting the expectations of from me during the rotation. The doctor often nudged me to do things which I was otherwise hesitant about, example interacting with difficult family members. This immensely increased my confidence in handling difficult situations. In addition, the doctor essentially taught what it was like to be an IM physician outside residency in the real world, where a lot more factors are in play, such as insurance, medicare, billing etc. The doctor also encouraged me to do Powerpoint presentations regularly and frequently asked me questions about the sickest patient we saw that day. This forced me to pay attention to every detail and observe. The doctor gave excellent feedback and had a good understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. Overall I learnt a lot from this rotation.
