International medical graduates (IMGs) and students seeking US clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology. Please note that, because of the preferences of this physician's patient population, only female students are eligible to complete this rotation.

How to obtain a letter of recommendation:

The rotator should ask the preceptor for a LOR near the conclusion of the rotation. Dr. Desai has provided the physician with guidelines about best practices in letter writing that meet residency program requirements. In some cases, the preceptor may ask the rotator to write a letter of recommendation draft. In the 2024-2025 application cycle, many obstetrics and gynecology residency programs asked applicants to submit one standardized letter of evaluation. Please note that this preceptor is willing to write a SLOE for rotators.

During the rotation:

Our team will be checking in periodically with you to ensure that you are having an optimal experience. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions during the rotation.

Testimonials

This rotation was very enriching. The preceptor was very welcoming and truly invested in teaching. Even though the doctor is busy, Dr. X took the time to sit with the interns at the end of each day. This allowed the doctor to get to know us better, understand our experience in the lab, and teach us about medicine, pathology, lab management, residency applications, and other topics. The doctor was open to any questions and willing to help with personal decisions, such as those related to residency. The rotation was very organized and offered plenty of hands-on experience.
