The preceptor is on staff at hospitals within the Abrazo Health Systems and is a dedicated teacher. Much of this physician’s career was spent in New Jersey where the preceptor served as teaching faculty for students and residents. Having recently moved to Phoenix, the physician is now eager to resume teaching.
Given this physician’s expertise, you will be exposed to a range of cardiac conditions. You will encounter patients for acute visits and chronic disease management. The priority will be on developing evidence-based approaches to the evaluation and management of patients presenting with a variety of symptoms and conditions. You will learn the indications and contraindications of different cardiac tests and procedures as well acquire skills in the interpretation of these tests. This preceptor will encourage you to synthesize information from patient encounters to form assessments and plans. Who should consider this rotation:
International medical graduates (IMGs) and students seeking US clinical experience in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine since cardiology problems are commonly encountered in these specialties.
How to obtain a letter of recommendation:

Testimonials
Dr. X was an excellent preceptor and was always very kind, approachable, and welcoming toward students. Despite having a busy schedule and seeing a large number of patients, the doctor always made time to answer my questions, explain clinical decisions, and ensure that I was included in the learning process.
One of the major strengths of this rotation was the high patient volume. This provided an excellent opportunity to become familiar with common clinical presentations, diagnostic approaches, and treatment patterns. At the same time, the variety of patients also created opportunities to encounter particularly interesting and challenging cases. The rotation was also valuable for gaining a better understanding of how the healthcare system functions in practice, including patient management and clinical decision-making in a
real-world setting.
Overall, I found the preceptor to be very supportive and the rotation to be both educational and clinically engaging.
