Testimonials
This was an excellent, full spectrum hands-on clinical experience in general surgery that allowed me to improve my skills in the OR as well as build on my clinical and surgical knowledge with cases that ranged from simple to ones that were more complex and urgent. The preceptor exemplified the highest level of empathy and compassion towards patients, as well as professionalism towards our surgical team. It was a fun learning environment, and the doctor ensured that I was always learning and receiving guidance. Moreover, the doctor tailored the rotation to my career goals, introducing me to many other attending surgeons and physicians, and encouraging me to spend time outside her service if it would help my educational objectives. I had the opportunity to work closely with the team caring for patients outside of the OR and on the floor and ICU. Sub-specialty surgeons welcomed me into their service to scrub-in, taught me about their cases, and non-surgical attendings throughout the hospital were happy to discuss with me how surgery regularly collaborates with their service.
