Information about this clinical experience:

You will be under the supervision of a physician who is board-certified in Internal Medicine. The doctor has also taught international medical graduates and nurse practitioners. The physician is an excellent role model for aspiring residents with very high patient care reviews that reflect dedication to delivering compassionate care. The preceptor holds hospital privileges at AdventHealth and HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. The doctor is currently Assistant Chief of Medicine at a major hospital and will soon be Chief of Medicine.

In the clinic, you will have the opportunity to see patients with acute complaints and chronic disease, and for health screenings. The preceptor is well regarded for having a caring bedside manner. Patients have praised the physician for being attentive to their needs, taking the time to truly listen, and explaining things clearly. This will be an excellent opportunity to see how personalized, patient-centered care is delivered.

During your experience, you will learn the following U.S. medical practices under the preceptor’s supervision:

  • Taking patient histories.

  • Performing exams under the physician's supervision.

  • Presenting patients.

  • Researching the literature to answer clinical questions at the point of care.

Because of hospital policies, please note that your inpatient component will be more observational.

Who should consider this rotation:

How to obtain a letter of recommendation:
