What you will do: You will be under the supervision of a physician who is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. This is a physician who is a dedicated educator with considerable experience in teaching and serves as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. The physician holds a hospital appointment at Cooper University Hospital.

Please note that the preceptor is open to having students take part in scholarly activity or short-term research projects like case reports and other studies. Please note that the availability of the project is at the preceptor's discretion.  If you are interested in such opportunities, please let the preceptor know as early as possible.

Who should consider this rotation: International medical graduates (IMGs) and students seeking US clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology. Please note that, because of the preferences of this physician's patient population, only female students are eligible to complete this rotation.

How to obtain a letter of recommendation: The rotator should ask the preceptor for a LOR near the conclusion of the rotation. Dr. Desai has provided the physician with guidelines about best practices in letter writing that meet residency program requirements. In some cases, the preceptor may ask the rotator to write a letter of recommendation draft.

During the rotation: Our team will be checking in periodically with you to ensure that you are having an optimal experience. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions during the rotation.

TESTIMONIALS

Cintia

"The doctor is a wonderful doctor, he is used to having students as his patients also. He asked me for two presentations and helped me in building the slides and what concepts were more important to be taught. He is open to research projects which is an amazing opportunity for IMGs. The rotation is really hands-on, we can interview and even examine patients and assist in procedures."
